Corniche El Ouatia

Project Overview

The El Ouatia Corniche project extends over nearly 3 km, combining the renovation of an existing section with the creation of a new waterfront sequence. The design challenge was to achieve continuity while introducing a contemporary identity that remains attentive to the existing context. For the new stretch, the proposal adopts light, undulating forms which, when seen from above, create a subtle woven pattern along the coastline. These curves establish a modern and dynamic image while harmonising with the renovated section, ensuring a coherent vision for the full corniche. Conceived as both infrastructure and civic intervention, the project creates a resilient promenade that strengthens the connection between the city and the sea, offering spaces for leisure, community and identity along El Ouatia's coast.
