Stade Roches Noires

Project Overview

ReBuild Group's competition proposal for the new stadium in the Roches Noires district of Casablanca, on a site that called for the demolition and reconstruction of the existing arena. The design makes the most of a constrained urban plot, giving the stadium a strong, contemporary form wrapped in a distinctive woven skin. At the heart of the proposal, a continuous elevated walkway rises from the ground and runs through the stadium, opening views toward the city and the sea while connecting the public spaces around the arena. The result is a permeable, landmark building that belongs to its neighbourhood as much as to the game.
