Swan River Pedestrian Bridge

Project Overview
Independent structural validation, by finite-element modelling, of the Swan River pedestrian bridge in Perth, carried out in collaboration with engineer Nicola Cosentino to assess the reliability and performance of the initial design developed by the lead office. The study evaluated the structure's behaviour under wind and pedestrian-induced dynamic loads, verifying compliance with international safety and comfort standards. Advanced dynamic and aerodynamic modelling confirmed the overall performance of the footbridge and refined several design parameters, underlining the importance of precise analysis for long-span structures under complex loading.
