Mongolfiera Shopping Center, Taranto

Project Overview

The Mongolfiera shopping centre in Taranto sits in one of the most challenging parts of the city, close to the ILVA steelworks. The brief was to deliver a smooth, elegant design despite a very long facade and a simple interior shell. The interior image was entirely refreshed to convey a sense of luxury using economical materials and carefully composed scenes: a luminous gallery punctuated by palms, a sculptural radial rotunda and a clear, legible visitor experience.
